The Ethiopian Red Cross Society inaugurates renovation works of Assayita Primary Hospital with a cost of three million birr. The renovation work is done by the Society partnered with Finish Red Cross Society.
The work included the renovation of the Hospital’s Operation Room (OR) as well as construction of placenta pit, communal latrines, waiting areas and walkways.
During the inauguration ceremony Asayita Hospital Medical Director Dr. Aman Abdu said the renovation helps them render standard services and serve more clients.
The walk ways and waiting area also serve the community to wait comfortably until their turn reaches. ‘The sun was unbearable and it was difficult to sit and wait here’ says Medina Mohammed a 40 year old client of the Hospital who is happy about the waiting area.
Speaking on the occasion ERCS Secretary General Meshesha Shewarega (PhD) expresses satisfaction over the renovated works and stressed on the need to further collaborate to help alleviate the suffering of people living in the area.

The Society is planning to collect additional 15 million birr shortly through a telethon to be organized in collaboration with prominent Artists.
