The President Extends His New Year’s Heartfelt Wishes
Ato Abera Tola, President of the Ethiopian Red Cross society and board member of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, extended his heartfelt wishes of peace, health, and hope to all staff, volunteers, members, and partners.
Ato Abera said on his message that the year behind has not been without sorrow and the coming year is a new chapter, one we hope will be filled with compassion, resilience, and renewed energy.
He also thanked staff and volunteers, members, donors and partners and wishes the New Year be a year of kindness, courage, and shared purpose.

New Year Message from the President of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society
As we welcome the Ethiopian New Year, I extend my heartfelt wishes of peace, health, and hope to all our staff, volunteers, members, and partners.
The year behind us has not been without sorrow. We lost one of our own to armed groups—a colleague whose commitment and courage will always remain with us. This loss reminds us of the risks our staff and volunteers take each day to serve humanity, and it strengthens our resolve to continue walking in their footsteps with honor and dedication.
The coming year is a new chapter, one we hope will be filled with compassion, resilience, and renewed energy. It is my sincere wish that this year becomes a year in which we reach even more communities in need—lifting spirits, healing wounds, and mending broken hearts.
To our staff and volunteers: your tireless service is the beating heart of our Society. May this year inspire you to do even more and better
To our members: thank you for standing firmly with us. Your solidarity gives us strength to carry forward our humanitarian mission.
To our donors and partners: we are deeply grateful for standing with us in difficult times, for the trust and partnership you continue to extend to us. Let this year be another where we build on that trust to deliver hope and dignity to those who need it most.
