“ ማኅበሩ ለርሃብና መሰል አደጋዎች ምላሽ መስጠት የሚያስችል አቅም ገንብቷል”- አበራ ቶላ
የኢትዮጵያ ቀይ መስቀል ማኅበር ከፍተኛ አመራሮች እናየአጋር ድርጅት ተወካዮች ቅዳሜ ዕለት አዲስ አበባ በሚገኘው የጣሊያን የባህል ተቋም ለእይታ በበቃው ዊ እስታንድ አስ ዋን (StandTogether As One) በተሰኘውን ዘጋቢ ፊልም ላይ ታደሙ።
ዘጋቢ ፊልሙ ከ1975-77ዓ.ም በኢትዮጵያ ተከስቶ የነበረውን ርሃብ እና ለቀውሱ ምላሽ ለመስጠት“ባንድ ኤይድ”፣“ዩኤ ኤስ ፎርአፍሪካ”እና“ላይቭ ኤድ” የተባሉ የእርዳታ ማሰባሰቢያ ዘመቻዎች ያበረከቱትን አስተዋፅዖ ያስቃኛል።
በፓናል ውይይቱ ላይ የማኅበሩ ፕሬዝዳንት አቶ አበራ ቶላ እንደተናገሩት፤ ማኅበሩ ርሃብና መሰል አደጋዎች ምላሽ ለመስጠት የሚያስችል አቅምና ስርዓት መገንባቱን በመግለጽ በኢትዮጵያ መሰል ቀውሶች በድጋሜ ፈጽመው እንዳይከሰቱ ለማድረግ ዝግጁ መሆኑን አረጋግጠዋል።
በሳሊም አሚን እና በቺፕ ዱንካን የተዘጋጀው ዘጋቢ ፊልም ሌሎችን ጨምሮ ከአርቲስትና ማኅበራዊ አንቂ ሃሪ ቤላፎንቴ እና “We are The World” አዘጋጅ ኬን ክራገን፣ከታዋቂው የሙዚቃ አቀናባሪና ድምጻዊው ሊዮኔል ሪቺ፣ ድምጻዊ ዲዮኔ ዋርዊክ እና ከታዋቂው የቢቢሲ ጋዜጠኛ ሚካኤል ቡርክ ጋር የተደረጉ የቴሌቭዥን ቃለ ምልልስሶችን አካቶ ይዟል።

ERCS builds a capacity to respond to famine-like catastrophes, says Abera Tola
Higher leaders of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) and the representatives of partner organizations attended the screening of the “Stand Together As One” documentary film held on Saturday at the Italian Cultural Institute in Addis Ababa.
The documentary film highlights the1983-85 Ethiopian famine and the contributions of the “Band Aid,” “USA for Africa,” and “Live Aid” campaigns to respond to the crisis.
Speaking at the panel discussion,Abera Tola, President of ERCS, said that the society has built the capacity and system to respond to famine-like catastrophes, reaffirming its readiness to prevent such catastrophes from happening again in Ethiopia.
Co-produced by Salim Amin and Chip Duncan, the documentary film features a television interview with artist-activist Harry Belafonte and the “We Are The World” organizer Ken Kragen, along with song composer and renowned musician Lionel Richie, singer Dionne Warwick, and the celebrated BBC correspondent Michael Buerk – among others.
