ERCS Congratulates Dr. Asha Mohammed on National Honour
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) warmly congratulates Dr. Asha Mohammed on being honored as a National Hero of Kenya during the 2026 Mashujaa Day celebrations.
Dr. Asha received this honour during the ceremony from the hands of Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to humanitarian response, public health, governance, international diplomacy and development.
As Secretary General of the Kenya Red Cross, Dr. Mohammed provided strategic leadership in Kenya’s response to major humanitarian crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic, devastating floods, the desert locust invasion and severe drought that threatened the livelihoods of vulnerable communities.
ERCS celebrates this well-deserved recognition of her remarkable humanitarian leadership and dedication to serving humanity. Her achievements stand as an inspiration to humanitarian workers, public servants and generations committed to building resilient communities and advancing human dignity across Africa and beyond.
