Dear RCRC families, Ladies and Gentlemen, Ethiopian Red Cross Society has continued scaling up its effort to provide effective humanitarian services throughout the country.
Currently, the Society is engaged in emergency response, food security, environmental protection, Water and sanitation, health and care and other humanitarian and developmental initiatives that contribute much for lives of many in the country.
Humanitarian activities of the Society, which are highly interrelated with the growth and development direction of the country, are being undertaken by the Society through its volunteers. These humanitarian activities are mainly based in relieving the pain and suffering of the most vulnerable so that they are highly regarded and credible within the people.
In this regard, humanitarian services of the Society being led by the Seven Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, has led it to stand on unwavering foundation.
These days, manmade and natural disasters and humanitarian crisis is being aggravated throughout the world. In addition to its domestic humanitarian responses, Ethiopian Red Cross Society is supporting to these timely and cross boarder incidents particularly, emergency responses provided to returnees and refugees are indicated among others. Hence, in the future much more is also expected from all of us to support the sustainability of the 78 years of humanitarian services by the Ethiopian Red Cross Society. At this point in time, I call up on all of you to support the societys endeavors to become self-sufficient Society.
Dear RCRC families, Ladies and Gentlemen, At this juncture, I would like to thank and appreciate those governmental and non-governmental organizations, individuals, members and volunteers who have contributed much for the colorful celebration of the 66th anniversary of Red Cross and Red Crescent Day and particularly 78 years of humanitarian services by Ethiopian Red Cross Society. In the meantime, the change initiatives of the Society to become self-sufficient needs unwavering support from all of us so that I would like to call upon all of you to keep your commitment and scale up your support to the Society. Celebrating the day with its theme My Red Cross Story, much is expected from every one of us to discharge our humanitarian responsibility in developing shared capacity to reach-out to the most vulnerable communities in various manmade and natural disasters.
