Ethiopian Red Cross Society conducts 6 month review meeting

Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) conducted the 2009 Semi-annual review from 9-10 February 2009 at the Society training center. The meeting among others has thoroughly discussed on the society accomplishments towards disaster response, disaster prevention, volunteerism and resource mobilization.
Opening the meeting Frehiwot Worku, ERCS Secretary General said, in the past six month the Society has played its part in the provision of disaster responses to humanitarian disaster happened in the country.
The Secretary General also remark that meeting of this kind is a good platform for learning and sharing experiences works accomplished both by the national office and the society branch offices.

In the past six month the Society has performed better in ambulance service and disaster response activities. To the contrary due attention should be given to income generating activities to be self-reliant, Essential drug supply and professional voluntarism.
On the review meeting discussions held on the Society work of addressing vulnerable groups through its structure and quality of service and directions also forwarded for the betterment of its work in the coming six months.
