Ethiopian Red Cross Society Supports KOSHE Landslide Victims

A landslide is happened on Saturday night in KOSHE area of Kolfe Keraniyo sub-city in the capital Addis Ababa, announced Diriba Kuma Mayor of Addis Ababa City Administration mentioning at least 72 fatalities.
As rescue efforts continue, Ethiopian Red Cross is participating in the emergency operation with a team of 20 volunteers, including staffs from the ERCS Headquarters and Addis Ababa branch.
Mohammed Dada, Disaster Preparedness and Response Department Head at ERCS said that “during the operation five ambulances have been mobilized to the area of the emergency and ERCS have been giving psychosocial support, pre hospital care, and conducting the search for missing people.”
Moreover, Ethiopian Red Cross is ready to assess the emergency damage in the disaster area and commits to distribute non-food items worth of birr 880,000 to 400 households, it is learned.
