ERCS Regional Branch Offices Celebrate 90th Anniversary with Humanitarian Activities

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society, the leading humanitarian organization in Ethiopia, is proudly celebrating its 90th years anniversary across the country with the theme; “90 Years Legacy of Humanitarian Service”. The society’s regional branch offices all over the county are celebrating the 90 years’ anniversary with various humanitarian activities. From blood donation drives to community clean-up campaigns and acts of kindness, our dedicated volunteers, staff, leadership, and community members are marking this milestone through meaningful humanitarian actions.
At headquarters level the anniversary will be celebrated on 8, July,2025 at Addis International Convention Center, Addis Ababa, colorfully.
Ethiopian Red Cross Society s a humanitarian organization providing services to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters through the provision of emergency responses, ambulance and first aid, family reunification, essential drugs, water and sanitation, and other humanitarian services.
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS), one of the 192 national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies around the world, was founded on July 8th, 1935, by government edict, following the second Italian invasion of Ethiopia. ERCS began by providing humanitarian services to wounded soldiers and civilian victims. That same year on 25th September 1935, ERCS was officially recognized as the 48th member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
