The Society provided humanitarian assistance to those affected by the landslide in Gedeo and Kembata zones

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society provided humanitarian assistance to those displaced by the landslide in Gedeo zone, Rapa woreda, Cheraka, Haro and Dakua kebeles in the Southern Ethiopian Region, and in Kembata zone, Angacha woreda, Zobecho kebele in the Central Ethiopian Region on August 27, 2025.

The assistance included blankets, carpets, tarpaulins for temporary shelter, cooking supplies, jerrycans, hygiene kits, agober and other non-food items; a total of 248 households were reached with the assistance. The Society is currently working to send additional assistance to the areas.

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society expresses its condolences to the victims of the disaster and extends its deepest condolences to their families and friends.
