ERCS Holds Consultative Workshop on National Society Development

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society, in partnership with the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement partners, has today reviewed the National Society Development (NSD) operational achievements of the last three years in Addis Ababa.

In his opening remarks, Ato Mohammed Jemal, Deputy Secretary General of ERCS, noted that the National Society Development roadmap is a compass for the Society to achieve its operational objectives, calling for building the roadmap to make it inclusive, measurable, and achievable.

The consultative workshop has highlighted exceptional performance in Branch Development and Humanitarian Diplomacy and Visibility, with 94.6% and 90% of recorded performance, respectively.

The workshop has reviewed the strategic priorities of branch development, partnerships and resources, membership and volunteerism, human resource and leadership development, digitalization, and communication and visibility, as defined in the NSD roadmap 2023-2025.

Ato Abera Lulessa, Secretary General of ERCS gave direction to the heads of branches and departments of ERCS to look inward to develop capacity and deliver quality humanitarian service to the community in the coming five years.
The 2026-2030 roadmap of NSD also reflects ERCS’s ambition in building a resilient, locally-led, and financially sustainable humanitarian organization through branch development and resource mobilization.
