ERCS Reaches Over 250,000 People by Phone in 2025 Through Restoring Family Links Program

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS), in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), held its annual review meeting on the Restoring Family Links (RFL) program in Addis Ababa from November 27–28, 2025. The meeting evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of the year’s RFL performance across all levels and outlined key recommendations for the way forward.

Ato Megersa Weyessa, Coordinator of RFL at ERCS, stated that more than 250,000 people were successfully reached by phone as part of efforts to reconnect families separated by conflict, disasters, and migration.

He also noted that ERCS enabled 63,845 people to access solar-powered mobile charging services in refugee camps.
Participants of the meeting included staff from ERCS headquarters, regional branches, and representatives from the ICRC.
