ERCS Validates National Society Development Plan

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS), together with its management team and Movement partners, conducted a validation workshop on the National Society Development (NSD) Plan for 2026–2030 in Addis Ababa.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Mohammed Jemal, Deputy Secretary General for Branch Affairs and Localization at ERCS, said that the workshop aims to collectively review, refine, and validate the strategic directions proposed in the roadmap.

He highlighted that the NSD is a cornerstone for strengthening the capacity of ERCS and its branches, improving governance systems and accountability, and ensuring financial sustainability in order to deliver quality humanitarian services to communities.

Ato Abera Lulessa, Secretary General of ERCS, led the discussion and gave direction to the management team and heads of branch offices to consolidate the feedback received from participants, with the goal of developing a relevant, sustainable, resilient, and locally empowered National Society.

The NSD Plan 2026–2030 identifies six priority areas: branch development, financial sustainability, digitalization, membership, volunteer and youth development, institutional and leadership transformation, and communication and visibility.
