ERCS Plans to Mobilise over 50 Million Birr Local Resource Next Month
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society hold a consultative discussion on nationwide resource mobilization campaign today, in Addis Ababa
Bringing together staff and volunteers of the Society, the consultative discussion aims to equip and empower ERCS resource mobilization team and youth volunteers with the necessary tools and knowledge and to mobilize over 30,000 new subscribers in one month and increasing financial contributions.
Opening the session, Ato Ahmed Yimam, ERCS’s Deputy Secretary General for Private Public Partnership noted that, since foreign financial support has been declining for various reasons, it is very crucial to ensure the sustainability of ERCS’s humanitarian service delivery through local resources mobilization.
Ato Ahmed added that ERCS will launch a one-month domestic resource mobilization campaign aimed at increasing financial contributions by mobilizing more than 30,000 new subscribers through “9400” SMS in the coming days.
He also indicated that ERCS plans to collect more than fifty million Birr at the national level in another multi-faceted fundraising campaign that will start next month.
Ato Ahmed also urged the community to support the Society’s humanitarian goals by sending “OK“ to 9400 and donating one Birr per day.
