Secretary General of the German Red Cross Concludes His Visit to ERCS
Mr. Christian Reuter, Secretary General of the German Red Cross(GRC), Concluded his visit to the Ethiopian Red Cross Society(ERCS) .
The Society’s Center for Capacity Development for Humanitarian Service(CCDHS), the Central Warehouse, the Essential Drug program, and Mini Studio of the Society were among the facilities visited by the Secretary General.
ERCS’s ongoing and planned Projects with the German Red Cross support were also presented by GRC Ethiopia Team and discussed with the management.
Ato Abera Lulessa, Secretary General of ERCS thanked Mr. Christian for the visit he made to ERCS and the German Red Cross for supporting ERCS’s humanitarian activities in different parts of the country. Ato Abera noted that the support that GRC has made to capacitate ERCS regional branches, like the Benishangul Gumuz regional branch, was significant.
Mr.Chirstian heighted the longstanding partnership between the two national societies and promised to further strengthen the partnership in the coming years especially in the areas of capacity building and voluntarism, among others.
Mr. Christian Reuter also paid a visit to the Ethiopian Red Cross Society’s East Shewa Zone Branch Office with the Director General of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Pierre Krähenbühl, yesterday.
The Society is currently working to strengthen the capacity of its branches to deliver rapid and well-coordinated humanitarian responses.
It was in 1960s that the German Red Cross (GRC) began working with ERCS in the in Arba Minch for the first time.
