ERCS Delegation Conductes a Partnership Meeting with its Finnish Red Cross Counterpart


The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) delegation conducted a partnership meeting with its Finnish Red Cross counterpart to strengthen the collaboration between the two sister societies.

The ERCS delegation, consisting of Ambassador Tawfik Abdulalhi, Member of the National Governing Board; Ato Abera Lulessa, Secretary General; and other members of the executive team, discussed various issues with the President, the Secretary General, and other colleagues of the Finnish Red Cross (FRC).

During the discussion, ERCS presented and explained, the general overview of the humanitarian situation in Ethiopia, the activities of the Ethiopian Red Cross and the ERCS’s strategies and objectives under its strategic priorities
The delegation also visited the logistics center of the Finish Red Cross, took experiences on how the Finish Red Cross is working with authorities and its unique capacity of the running field hospitals.

In the meeting, both parties identified key areas of cooperation and agreed to strengthen the scope and magnitude of their partnership.
In addition, the ERCS delegation held discussions with the Finnish Meteorological Institute and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.

The ERCS delegation explained to the MoFA the humanitarian activities of the National Society, the implementation of localization, and its partnership with the Finnish Red Cross.
After a successful visit and productive discussions with the Finnish Red Cross and other stakeholders, the delegation returned home.
