ERCS Harari Regional Branch Elects New Board Leadership


The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) Harari Regional Branch has successfully held its 12th Regular General Assembly in Harar city, marking an important milestone in strengthening its leadership and future direction.
During the assembly, new board leaders and members were elected to guide the branch over the next four years, reinforcing the Society’s commitment to delivering impactful humanitarian services across the region.

In his remarks, ERCS Deputy Secretary General for Branches and Localization, Ato Mohamed Jamal, emphasized the urgent need to expand membership and called on the regional government to enhance its support for the Society’s humanitarian mission.

The Guest of Honor, Harar City Municipality Chief Executive Ato Khalid Abdi, reaffirmed the city administration’s commitment to deepening collaboration with ERCS and strengthening support for its activities.

The session opened with a welcome address by Board Chairman Eng. Nabil Yusuf, followed by presentations and discussions on the branch’s four-year performance and two-year strategic plan by Head of the branch office Ato Asfaw Senbeto, and the audit report by National Society Audit Director Ato Sintayehu Hailu.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Eng. Nabil Yusuf was re-elected as Board Chairman. Ato Abiy Abebe was elected Vice Chairman, and Ms. Kokobe Mulatu as Treasurer. Mr. Fatih Mehdi, Mr. Yasin Abdullahi, Dr. Bahir Adem, and Ms. Yenenesh Tilahun were elected as board members.
