ERCS Board Member Dr. Addisalem Mulat Elected RCNet Youth Chairperson

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) proudly congratulates Dr. Addisalem Mulat, Member of the ERCS Board, on her election as the Youth Chairperson of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Network for East Africa and the Indian Ocean (RCNet).
Dr. Addisalem was elected during the RCNet General Assembly, held from 14–16 July 2026 in Port Sudan, Sudan, where representatives of Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies from across East Africa and the Indian Ocean came together to strengthen regional collaboration and advance humanitarian action.

As RCNet Youth Chairperson, Dr. Addisalem will represent the interests and aspirations of young people across the region, promoting youth leadership, participation, and collaboration within the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
Her election marks a significant achievement not only for Dr. Addisalem personally but also for the Ethiopian Red Cross Society. It reflects ERCS’s continued commitment to empowering young people, fostering inclusive leadership, and creating opportunities for youth to contribute meaningfully to humanitarian action at national, regional, and international levels.
ERCS believes this accomplishment will inspire more young volunteers to take on leadership roles and continue serving their communities with dedication, compassion, and innovation.
