The office manages, coordinates and implements humanitarian programs and projects, emergency preparedness and response, dissemination and membership, water sanitation and hygiene and promotion and strengthening of humanitarian values. Additionally, the office provides first aid training with four ambulances serving the communities of Dubti, Telalak, Argoba and Erebti, Woredas of the region.

1. Emergency Appeal 2016
Aims at providing humanitarian aid to some 35,371 people in Afar region affected by drought through the distribution of supplementary food, malnutrition screening, and referral, improving access to safe water, providing hygiene and protection of the livelihoods of the community from December 28, 2015 – December 2016.
2. ERCS-FRC CBHFA Approach Community Project
Aims to improving health and increased resilience in vulnerable target communities by 2018 in the Regional State / Semera / Logiya, Dubiti, and Assiyita Districts. It also contributes to the efforts of Afar region in MNICH program by supporting ANC / Clean & safe delivery/, PNC /Institutional delivery/ from 32% to 60% and the project benefited a total number of 171,493 beneficiaries in all 29 kebeles. The project also aims to solve road safety and community level disaster preparedness related problems in selected areas.

The branch has more than 62,240 members and 629 volunteers. The later are engaged in emergency medical and Ambulance services, tracing and reunification of separated families, running public awareness program on communicable and epidemic diseases and provision of first aid services.
